Alaine added as a new judge in the Tastee Talent Trail.
THERE are major changes associated with this year's Tastee Talent Trail competition. The producers have signed a new host, a new judge as well as pumped a significant increase in the prize money on offer.
Television personality Pepita has been signed to host the 2012 Tastee Talent Trail season, while singer Alaine has been added to the judges panel. Pepita replaces Elva as host while Alaine will join Oral Tracey and Milk on the judge's panel, replacing Audrey Reid.
Pepita, the former host of Intense, will bring her sensational camera appeal and stunning good looks to the Talent Trail, while expanding the role of host to include voice over for the auditions as well as on stage presentations for the Reality Weekend, the Quest, semi-finals and finals.
Alaine is one of Jamaica's most successful female singers and will bring experience as well as the industry voice to the judge's panel.
The prize money for this year's contest has been increased to $1,650,000 with a breakdown as follows: $1,000,000 for the 1st place winner, $500,000 to the 2nd place winner and $150,000 for the 3rd place winner.
Also new this year to the Trail, which is sponsored by Tastee, Pepsi, TVJ, FAME FM, Breezes, Sparkles Production, T-Shirt Express and Kosmo Tours, will be an audition in Morant Bay where Tastee has recently open a new location.
Auditions are set to begin May 19 in Ocho Rios, and continues on June 9 in Mandeville, (another new audition venue). It then moves on to Montego Bay on July 28, Morant Bay on August 11 and Kingston on September 1.
